updateing old mods

i was just wondering if there are any specific parts of a mod that you have to change to make an out of date mod work, i.e. when you are at character selection and you click on the addons button and some mods say out of date and you click the load out of date mods button blah blah blah but it still doesn't work in game in fact it dosnt even show up so are there any spacific parts of the mod i would need to change or should i just give up? or do i have to modify the whole mod to make it work.

no specific mod in mind.

I'm a noob at mod development so i kind of want somewhere to start.|||if the mod says invalid version then you will have to change the version number.

open the .toc file in wordpad etc and change the version number to 20400 some examples are 1800, 1900, 20100.|||Quote:

is that all you have to do to make it work??|||no thats just to get them to load properly, some old mods do still work but if blizz has made some big code changes on their end they any mods thats used that code will have to be fixed up.

what mod are you wanting to update?
